When buying a home in the Altoona/Blair County area, Altoona is the most populated area of Blair County along the I-99 travel corridor, with county seat, Hollidaysburg, located approximately seven miles to the south. The next largest populated area to the north is Bellwood/Antis, then Tyrone, approximately 15 miles away. The historic town of Williamsburg is approximately 17 miles to the east. To the south, past Hollidaysburg, are the areas of Duncansville, East Freedom, Roaring Spring, Martinsburg (also known as “the Cove;” where the county airport is located), and Claysburg (approximately 19 miles away).
